v0.5.5: More playtesting feedback


This update (hopefully) fixes several issues I ran across with new playtesters. The biggest one is that people weren't really investigating the alchemy system, which I think is a really cool (and roguelike-ish) part of the game. I'm taking my own advice from my Stardew Valley writeup and just giving players a cauldron and herbs at the beginning. ALSO! You now start off with a second row of inventory. woooo.

Miscellany:

  • Additional tutorial screens for people who have never played Stardew Valley.
  • Moved the plant types tutorial screen until the players select a seed to plant, moving it closer to the moment it's needed.
  • UI help text if the user is hovering over a usable item, but is currently holding a tool in their hands.
  • Hiding the Property 2 box from the seed buying screen until it it relevant.
  • Don't allow the player to access the seed buying screen if they don't have cash (like at the start).
  • Implemented min distance from room entrance to reward chest in the shadow cookie room
  • Added red text to the seed buying screen when the seeds won't grow to harvest before the end of the game.
  • Fixed a bug where the first crop item in any stack would be the unmodified value of the crop instead of the modified value (from neighboring plants)
  • Fixed a UI bug with repeated flashing of daylight or energy meters.
