Re:Seed Update, Part the Second
This update includes the second chunk of new content and systems for Moondrop Mountain. Here's the changes
- Blueprints can now be found on the mountain trails. These blueprints allow new structures to be created at the workshop.
- New structure: Herb Garden. Grows a random potion ingredient each day, costs 10 wood to build.
- New structure: Stonk Rock. Increases the sale price of all crops by 10%, costs 2 of each specialty lumber to build.
- Trail trees now have a chance to drop specialty lumber. Trail trees now show up on the shrine screen.
- New perk: Elemental lumberjack. Doubles the drop rate of specialty lumber.
- Better indicators of plant happiness. The Plant Info box now shows how much growth a plant will do daily (assuming nearby plants are watered). Unhappy plants will be slightly faded. At the start of each day, plants will indicate (via happy / frowny face) how much growth they will be doing, or if they were unwatered the previous day or ready for harvest. When hovering on a plant, the outbound growth arrows are now faded down, emphasizing the incoming growth arrows (which remain opaque).
- Redid the tutorial screens to help clarify the growth system.
- Made selling items and refunding sales one-click actions on the Selling screen.
- Moved all "additional seed" perks to be unlocked at the start of the game, but added logic to make them less likely to appear as seed income rises.
- Changed the "Dry" elemental color to be orange instead of red. This should help distinguish it between the "Dry" growth arrow color and the "Bad match" red highlight that appears when you have opposite growth arrows lined up.
- A dozen minor UI and QoL improvements.
- Increased the length of a day from 120 seconds to 135 seconds after observing more playtesting. Newer players especially didn't have enough time to explore the mountain trails.
The next (and final) Re:Seed update will contain some long-term goals, whether that's paying down a gigantic debt or requiring X gold per week to keep playing. I was originally hoping to include that with this update, but Juliana will be having our baby tonight! I wanted to get something out before I became a sleep-deprived zombie of a new parent.
